Located at the bank of Gomati River & surrounded by lush gardens, built by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula in 1784, the Bara Imambara is one of the most visited and famous historical places of Lucknow. A unique structure of Mughals engineering which offers a spectacular view of Lucknow city from the terrace of the historical monument, it also has the world’s largest hall without any physical support (beams or pillar),

Located near the Bara Imambara, and also known as the ‘palace of lights’ is the Chota Imambara. It is one of the highlights of culture and heritage. Built by Muhammad Ali Shah in 1838, the handmade beauty of marble and stone, superb gold-plated striking interiors with gold edge mirrors and the silver throne are strikingly beautiful.

Located adjacent to the Bara Imambara is the Rumi Darwaza which was built by Nawab Asaf-Ud-Dowlah in 1784. It reveals the Awadh style architecture and is now the logo of the Lucknow city.

A place which reflect the memories of wars and history, the Lucknow Residency was built between 1700 to 1800 AD for the residence of the British Resident General, as Lucknow was the hub of the ‘days of the Raj’. This heritage site has a Museum which offers glimpses of art (painting on the wall), engineering and lifestyle of the Nawabs and British period, with the photographs of the past era.
